Athletic Media Relations Graduate Assistant
East Tennessee State University seeks qualified applicants for a graduate assistant position in the area of Athletic Media Relations.
The Buccaneers compete at the NCAA Division I level and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. ETSU sponsors 17 varsity sports (baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s golf, women’s golf, indoor and outdoor track and field (men and women), cross country (men and women), softball and volleyball.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will assist the media relations staff with game-day operations for men’s basketball and women’s basketball, and will serve as the primary contact for a minimum of three sports (to be determined). Production of media guides, development of game-day publications, helping to maintain the department’s website (www.ETSUBucs.com), as well as other departmental duties will be assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Communications.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should possess strong writing, editing and design skills, as well as a good understanding of Statcrew Software (experience with basketball, volleyball, soccer and tennis Statcrew preferable), Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. Previous experience working in a college sports information office preferred.
Graduate assistants will receive: · An annual stipend of $7,500 (A 12-month contract renewable for two years.) · Housing waiver good for rent in a fully-furnished apartment complex that is within walking distance of campus. · Full tuition waiver towards a degree in Sports Management. Does not include books and fees.
